Dr. Rebecca Turner-Wehman grew up in Northern Virginia and attended James Madison University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2006. She attended dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University where she served as a class officer for four years and graduated in 2010. Upon graduation, she was honored with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Student Award and elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honorary dental fraternity.
Rebecca moved to Maryland and began her post-graduate specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Maryland where she served as Chief Resident. She completed training in 2013 and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She enjoyed working in a pediatric dental practice for 5 years before moving back to Virginia in 2018 with her family.
Rebecca is married to Brody Wehman, MD and together they welcomed a son in 2014 and a daughter in 2017. Dr. Becky, as her patients call her, is so excited to be back in the Richmond area to raise her family and serve the community!
Dr. Turner completed her dental research titled Expectant Mothers’ Readiness and Knowledge of Infant Oral Health with the Pediatric Dentistry department at Virginia Commonwealth University. She received the AD Williams Research Scholarship in 2009 and was accepted for presentation at the American Academy of Dental Research Annual Session in 2010.
During her residency, she completed a study comparing pulp treatments in primary teeth. This research was presented at the Annual Session for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in 2013.
Outside of dentistry, Rebecca enjoys photography and scrapbooking, staying active through hiking, running and yoga and spending time with her family and friends.
