1. Please remember your child’s cheek, lips and tongue may be “asleep” (numb) for several hours after treatment.
  2. Have your child bite on the provided gauze for at least 30 minutes or until any bleeding stops.
  3. Administer children’s Tylenol® (acetaminophen) or Motrin®/Advil® (ibuprofen) BEFORE the numbness wears off and every 4 hours if needed.
  4. Avoid having your child spit or use a straw for 24 hours.
  5. If your child will rinse without swallowing, have them rinse with warm salt water 2-3 times a day after the first 24 hours.
  6. Do not allow your child to participate in strenuous activities for the first 24 hours.
  7. A small amount of pink stained saliva on the child’s pillow the first night is nothing to be alarmed about. However, if the bleeding is continues or is heavy, call the doctor at once.
